Former NCAA Player, Ripken Baseball Instructor

Specialization:

Jackson Struve’s baseball journey began at just five years old, playing T-ball in Harford County, Maryland. From that early start, baseball became a lifelong passion. He played every season through elementary, middle, high school, and college; developing into a reliable, hardworking utility player who could handle any position on the field.

At Bel Air High School, Jackson quickly earned a reputation for his versatility, athleticism, baseball IQ and game sense, excelling as a utility player who could perform wherever the team needed him. He was a consistent presence on the field and a leader by example.

He was a key contributor throughout his high school career and was recognized by Prep Baseball Report as part of Bel Air’s core varsity lineup.

His talent and work ethic earned him a spot as an NCAA student-athlete at Penn State Harrisburg, where he played four years of collegiate baseball. As a senior, he appeared in 45 games, batted just under .270, posted a .377 on-base percentage, and ranked among the team leaders in stolen bases. He also earned Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Academic Team showing his commitment to both athletics and academics.

Jackson was known for delivering in high-pressure moments — whether driving in go-ahead runs or setting the tone with smart base running and clutch plays. His teammates knew him as someone who led by example, hustled every inning, and brought quiet confidence to the dugout.

Off the field, Jackson was just as focused. He served as President of the Finance Club, while also helping teammates both on and off the field — whether running extra practice reps or tutoring them in their coursework. His teammates and coaches relied on him for his dedication, level-headedness, and support.

Coaching & Mentorship

Jackson’s love of teaching the game began in high school when he started working as a youth baseball coach at Ripken Baseball. He continued mentoring young athletes throughout high school and college — sharing his knowledge and positive energy with kids of all ages and skill levels. His experience at Ripken honed his ability to coach a wide variety of personalities and learning styles — from quiet beginners to competitive tournament players.

Today, through Total Utility Baseball, Jackson offers that same personalized coaching to local athletes. His training focuses not only on fundamentals and performance but also on confidence, mindset, and leadership. Jackson is known for adapting his coaching style to fit the athlete — whether that means building up a shy player or challenging a seasoned athlete with advanced drills and game strategy.

Life Off the Field

Jackson now lives in Harford County, Maryland with his wife Jamie and their two dogs. After marrying in 2024, he planted roots back in the community where his own baseball journey began.

“I’ve lived this game at every level — from T-ball to college ball. I know what it takes to succeed, and I know how powerful it is when a coach believes in you. That’s what I want to give every athlete I work with — confidence, direction, and a love for the game.” – Jackson Struve
